Unlike Nikon dslrs and my pocket Ricoh GRDii, Canon is too cheap to offer a built-in interval shooting option. The only two options are connecting to a laptop with the EOS utility or using the TC-80N3 timer remote control. Both are an inconvenience while backpacking.

Would have been nice if they could have at least matched the backlight color.
